Work Life

Dr. Dick Bridy brings over four decades of broad experience in commercial real estate acquisitions and development to Bedrock Investments Group. He is the entrepreneurial founder and CEO of DBI Group, a boutique real estate firm specializing in commercial retail centers and single tenant properties. Throughout his distinguished career, Dick developed expertise in team brokerage, leasing, private equity funding, construction, and asset management. From the ground up, he and his team entitled and built two shopping centers and five single tenant properties. In addition, Dick has supervised the redevelopment of over 3.5 million sq. ft. of gross leasable area in 14 shopping centers and negotiated over 2,000 commercial leases as a broker and principal.

Recognized Expert Witness

Dr. Dick Bridy delivers real estate expert witness testimony for the commercial real estate and brokerage industry nationwide. His areas of expertise include asset, property and portfolio management, commercial litigation, development and redevelopment, insurance, and realtor fiduciary matters. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants.

As a principal of Bedrock Investments Group, Dick and his team perform due diligence on Bedrock’s acquisitions. Through extensive research, market valuation, physical inspection, and financial analysis, the team targets ideal properties with maximum economic potential for Bedrock’s portfolio. The work he and his team of specialists perform allows Bedrock to respond quickly and advantageously to changes in supply and demand in the marketplace. His extensive experience in architectural design, construction bidding and supervision, and leasing strategies creates a competitive advantage for Bedrock’s partners.

A scholar at heart, Dick is a graduate of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in economics. His graduate studies garnered academic honors recognition from the San Diego State University Graduate School of Business, the Marshall School at the University of Southern California, and the University of Phoenix, from which he received an MMBA, EMBA and PHD respectively.

For years, Dick has served on the boards of many prominent real estate organizations, including the National association of Realtors, California Association of Realtors, San Diego County Commercial Association of Realtors, and CCIM. During that time, he also earned the following licenses and designations:

• Realtor® – Licensed Real Estate Broker, State of California Department of Real Estate (DRE)
• CCIM – Certified commercial investment member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR)
• CRX – Certified retail property executive of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC)

AWAY FROM THE OFFICE

A deeply empathetic man, in 2015, Dr. Bridy drew upon his expertise in construction and organization to aid the earthquake victims of the Great Earthquake in Kathmandu and Ramachhap, Nepal. For weeks, he and his crew scavenged wood and other building materials from damaged homes and commercial buildings to erect a temporary elementary school. These materials were also gathered in preparation for reconstruction activities following the monsoon season. It was a transformative trip that will carry aid to bolster emergency disaster reconstruction efforts domestically and internationally. Volunteering his time and talent to local animal welfare organizations keeps him busy closer to home. Beneficiaries of his equine experience include Saving Horses, a horse rescue organization, and Horses of Tir Na Nog, San Diego’s oldest horse sanctuary dedicated to creating a refuge for horses in need. His other interests include cycling, trekking, golf and traveling with his family.

In addition, he is a committed advocate and fund raiser for The Great Cycle Challenge USA. He has cycled over 1,500 miles and raised over $8,000 in the past two (2) years in an effort to fund children’s cancer research. 15,700 American children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and sadly, 38 children die every week. His second cause is Stop Soldier Suicide. This organization is Veteran founded. Veteran led. Veteran focused to provide mental health assistance to veterans. Over 22 veterans commit suicide every day in the USA. He commits to trekking over 80-miles with a 35 lb. rucksack to raise funds for the cause. To date, he has raised over $3,000 to fund professional counseling to address financial strain, post-traumatic stress and other mental health issues, and difficulties navigating the transition from military to civilian life — BEFORE they escalate to a point of crisis.

THESPIAN ACTIVITIES

As a Supernumerary (“Supers”) or amateur character actor in a non-singing role, Dr. Bridy has made over 145 stage appearances. Since 2001, he has performed in 31 grand opera productions by the San Diego Opera and the production of Romeo and Juliet by The Stuttgart Ballet. The supernumeraries do not have any lines or singing parts in the opera. They are silent actors who serve as extras to enhance scenes in the opera performances.

Work Life

Michael Dyer brings 35 years’ experience in commercial real estate sales and leasing to Bedrock Investments Group. Prior to his distinguished career in commercial real estate, Michael worked in medical equipment sales and marketing management for more than 10 years, where he developed a thorough understanding of healthcare facilities. Michael has raised over $30 million in capital for property acquisitions for Bedrock Investments Group.

Insight & Know-How

Michael is a licensed Real Estate Broker in California. He is also a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIIM), a designation achieved by fewer than five percent of real estate brokers nationwide. CCIM certification is earned after successfully completing rigorous studies to develop proficiency in both theory and practice.

He received his B.A. in chemistry & zoology from Centre College, where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and lettered in track and field. Michael also completed post-graduate studies at the University of Kentucky and Memphis State University. His outstanding oratory skills earned him the Able Toastmaster Award from Toastmasters International.

Away From The Office

Michael is nicknamed “The Colonel” not simply because of his refined southern accent, but also because Governor Paul E. Patton commissioned him as a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. For entertainment, you’ll likely find him cheering for the San Diego Padres, playing pickle ball, swimming, skiing throughout the western Rockies and Canada, or fishing offshore for his favorite blue fin tuna. Because faith, community service and friendships are an important part of his life, Michael has served as an elder in the Village Presbyterian Church in Rancho Santa Fe and frequently travels the country visiting long-time friends. In 2021, he was chosen to serve on the board of trustees of the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation, the largest charitable foundation in North County San Diego and the third largest in San Diego County.

WORK LIFE

Ginny Uyeno-Bridy is president of DBI Asset Management, Iinc. and senior vice president at the DBI Group. She brings fifteen+ years of experience in asset management, entitlement, due diligence, leasing, management, and construction administration to her role with Bedrock Investments Group.

Ginny’s executive management skills in public administration translated seamlessly into her successful career in commercial real estate. As Chief Operating Officer, she supervises the acquisition, financing and administration of Bedrock Investments Group properties, and serves as the authorized manager for each investment property.

As the Director of Entitlements at DBI Asset Management, Inc., Ginny is responsible for navigating extensive approval processes that can involve multiple governing and regulatory agencies at the federal, state and local level.

Experience & Know-How

Prior to joining DBI Group, Ginny had a long and distinguished career with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Aagency where she directed policy planning and implementation, mobilized financial and community resources for the community action partnership program, and several other social services and oversaw procurement and contract management.

In the realm of commercial real estate, Ginny supervised the entitlement, lease negotiation, and administration for a ground up build of a shopping center in Temecula, California. She was also the market analyst and national broker representative for Barbeques Galore, Inc., where she completed numerous lease and build to suit transactions in California, Nevada, New York, Florida, and North Carolina.

Ginny received a B.A. from Fresno State University and another B.A. from San Diego State University. She is a licensed real estate salesperson in California. Her professional affiliations include the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) , San Diego Commercial Association of Realtors, and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) of San Diego.

Away From The Office

Maybe because she doesn’t have to be quite so careful in balancing risk away from the office, Ginny enjoys traveling, occasional outdoor adventures such as the challenges of white water rafting and flying down a zip line. Back at home she counts fitness classes, and spending time with her grandsons as favorite activities.

Giving back to the local community is important to Ginny, and she has a lot of fun doing it. You may see her volunteering her time as a Marshall for the PGA Tournament in Torrey Pines or ushering for performances at the North Coast Repertory Theater. She also appears as a non-singing extra or supernumerary, often with her husband Dick, in San Diego opera performances. Ginny appeared in several prominent roles as Madame Butterfly’s mother (2003) and the Ancient Soul of China In Nixon in China (2015).

Work Life

Laurie Baccash has recently joined the Bedrock Investments Group team as our Escrow and Title Coordinator. Laurie’s responsibilities include reviewing all aspects of escrow and title for property acquisitions and dispositions. She monitors the transactions following contract execution through closing. Some of Laurie’s duties include review of escrow instructions, preliminary title reports, conveyance and easement documents, as well as estimated and final closing statements. In addition Laurie reviews leases, estoppels certificates and other contracts. She monitors receipt of all required due diligence documentation and contract time schedules. Laurie’s attention to detail makes her a great asset to our Team.

Experience & Know-How

Prior to joining Bedrock Investments Group, Laurie had a long career in the escrow industry, with over 30 years experience in all aspects of escrow. During Laurie’s career she handled a variety of escrow transactions including: apartment buildings, commercial buildings, commercial and residential refinances, residential purchases, 1031 exchanges (delayed and simultaneous), lease options, and ground leases. Laurie has handled escrows with values ranging from a few thousand dollars to an excess of $25 million. Laurie received certification through the California Escrow Association decades ago and, although not actively employed as an escrow officer, has continued her membership to keep apprised of new legislation impacting the escrow industry.

Away From The Office

Laurie’s life is all about family. She lives in San Diego with her husband of over 28 years, two college age children and a two year old yellow Labrador retriever named Karma. Now with grown children she has had time to pursue her creative path through jewelry making and art classes. As a breast cancer survivor herself, Laurie has volunteered and been a participant in the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure, as well as other breast cancer fundraisers. Laurie is originally from a small town in Wisconsin, where her family all still currently lives. She regularly visits her extended family. In addition, Laurie enjoys traveling with her husband and children, and has visited over 25 countries. She is looking forward to planning their next great adventure. Laurie loves living in San Diego and enjoys long walks and sunsets near the ocean.
